Summer Exhibit

UMPQUA BANK ART EXHIBIT

Umpqua Bank, in downtown Lincoln, is currently holding an art exhibit from August 12 thru September 9. LHAA members are showing their artwork. Come and visit the exhibit

 

"The Lincoln Hills Art Show At Lincoln Arts" will open September 16 at the gallery in downtown Lincoln with a reception on September 19. Applications may be picked up at the gallery or at the July LHAA monthly meeting. Deadline is September 8. Member Activities

LHAA ARTISTS IN ACTION

Jim Brunk's painting titled "Trout Water" will be in the upcoming 2008 KVIE Art Auction. He will also be displaying 20 paintings in the Auburn Art Walk, on Thursday, August 14 at 853 West Lincoln Way (Sunset Realtors) in Auburn. The show will close October 10. Charlotte Cooper will also be in the KVIE Auction with her encaustic painting titled "Rising In The Light".

Jim Brunk and Barbara Molony have paintings entered in the Roseville Arts 32 Annual Open Show at the Blue Line gallery. Juror Phil Linhares from the Oakland Museum has made selections of 64 pieces from the 486 submitted. The grand opening is September 6 with a reception from 6-9 PM.

Judith Huth, Marilyn Powell, Marilyn Rose and Jim Brunk are entered in the Placer Arts Studio Tour in November.

PLEIN AIR PAINTING GROUP

Jim Brunk coordinates a Plein Air Group meeting the last Thursday of each month at Kilaga Springs. The group meets at 11 AM in the living room area. Try it. It’s fun! Contact Jim at 434-6317.

The August Members meeting will be held on  Monday, August 25, 2 PM at Kilaga Springs in the presentation room.

Featured Event:                   Presentation: Art challenge: Garden Art. Bring your artwork that will be a part of your garden. Ceramics, sculptures and acrylic board art (or anything you can put in your garden) is welcome. This challenge was inspired by Fred Ekman's demo on how he does this art. Call Fred if you did not get his materials list to prepare your garden art. Fred's number is 543-0336.
